White salt stretches as far as the eye can see. Pockmarked by the memories of long dried pools. Distant shapes, foggy curves break the flat bowl of the land. Dry, arid, with an unmistakable tang of brine, always lingering in the air. A ghost among the pale, Castle Aethervale is a sight to behold. When the rains come--their season always too short--there is only sky. The perfect mirror is only broken by the lurking forms of remote mountains and the gleaming walls of the palace. When the rains end, the vast monolith appears to rise above the landscape, a glorious floating temple of carved marble. |
