From the distance, dry and arid air sweeps over the dusty desert bowl. The shutters on scattered properties shudder and tired old saloon doors squeak as they swing back and forth. Not many folks call the Forgotten Frontier home, some would even say tumbleweeds outnumber people out in the acrid sunbaked lands. Old rickety fences stretch towards the horizon and old buildings creak and groan under the midday sun. The cracked earth is home to sparse natural vegetation. It is a harsh and humble hub that ranchers and farmers call home. While nothing glamorous, the cowpokes of the frontier have a tight-knit community. They are known to help one another out by sharing resources and swapping many a tale by the firelight. |
