Among the underground hub of lights and numerous parties, Curio leaned against the window of his shop. He loved the bustle of the Ultraviolent Underground, the people he could hear just outside his door and the shrieks of joy. Where else could you party for hours, go to sleep and then return to partying immediately? There was no hub quite like the UVU
Of course, Curio loved the dark and spooky things; the places no one goes and the artifacts that no one would dare to touch with a bare paw. Many of his friends and customers often wondered why he didn’t make for the Mythic Forest or even the Fogbrew Hollow. Those hubs were filled with mysterious places and there was always something lurking in the shadows. They would be the perfect homes for an oddities collector like Curio and would probably have many more customers than the ones he had in the UVU. So why did he stay?
It was simple.
The UVU was his home and he would miss the noise; the people, the dancing, the music, everything. He wasn’t a partier like everyone else, but he loved the feeling of it always being night. He felt like a burrowing Nota Dog, always surrounding by dirt and dampness: beneath the ground and the worries of the people on the surface. Beyond that, he did tend to worry, when he went topside, that he would suddenly float off into the sky. It didn’t seem like a silly thought to him when you looked up and saw that never-ending blue. He couldn’t even imagine the ren fairs coming from that blue, it was all very spooky and unsettling (which he normally loved).
He also met the most interesting people down here, from rockstars to idols, from pyrotechnics to conmen. There was every sort of person in the UVU and each one was eventually drawn in by the dim lights of his shop. And he would greet them wearing cursed clothes and holding any number of the oddities he had for sale.
He didn’t have many profits, but he had enough to keep him comfortable. He was just that kind of keb: the kind that didn’t need much to be content. He could spend hours just cleaning his oddities to feel happy and of course this was the wonderful hub he met his boyfriend in.
The hours they spent ghost hunting was all Curio could dream about and he knew Koto felt the same. This hub would always been a reminder of Curio finding someone that understood them and a man that loved him for all his strange or odd quirks. Koto didn’t think Curio was weird or different, he saw the keb as himself.
Curio never needed to live anywhere else, he was happy in the UVU. He wanted to grow old in his shop as he listened to stories from Koto, he wanted to always been surrounded by the unruly excitement of the UVU. To Curio, this hub was perfect.
