“Hurry up Kotori!”

With a quick side hug and no small amount of laughter, Curio tugged his boyfriend towards the Haunted House’s entrance. He knew the house wasn’t a real haunted house and that none of the props had the fun mysterious pasts he liked, but he loved this time of the year the most. It was almost like everyone had the same appreciation for ghosts and ghouls that he had all year.

Kotori shook his head fondly and wrapped an arm around the shorter kebanzu. “I thought we were waiting for your friends?” Not that he minded having Curio all to himself, any time really didn’t did not involve that annoying employee of Curio’s, Dante.

“They’re over there!” Curio pointed and sure enough two kebanzu stood waiting for them.

Sweets, a bright and colorful woman, laughed happily, “There you are Curio! Me and Gabi were waiting for you guys.”

Gabirelle patted her girlfriend’s shoulder, “Not too loudly, let’s go inside first.” She nodded her head towards them, “It’s nice to see you Curio and Kotori.”

Kotori agreed, “Likewise.”

They stood in line, the moon hanging over their heads as they waited. Just in time for a familiar face to pop up beside them.

“Hello folks!” Standing beside them was the one and only Sam O’Hain, “Are you excited for my Haunted House? It’s extra special this time of year!” Sam was a version of bright pink, wearing his Fall seasonal form with his mischievous flair.

Curio practically vibrated next to Kotori. “Of course, we are! I go to your Haunted House every year Sam!”

Kotori chuckled as he hugged Curio closer, “He convinced me there was no other Haunted Houses like yours.”

Sam looked pleased and turned his attention towards the ladies. “Well, what about you two?”

Gabirelle nodded her head slowly, “I’m interested to see what you changed this year. Last year was a very good example of a classic Haunted House.”

Sweets shrugged helplessly, “Well I was scared last year and I’m sure I’ll be scared this year.” She really needed to stop letting Gabrielle take her to haunted houses, she was confident she’d be cuddled up under a blanket all night with her girlfriend when the night’s done.

Sam stood proudly, his tail swishing quickly behind him, “Now that’s what I like to hear, my brave friends, this year’s house is one for the history books I can feel it. Just remember if you don’t think you can handle the house anymore, yell for Sam and I’ll come running. But only after I give you a scare!”

The Herald laughed loudly, but that was to be expected, Sam took his holidays and season very seriously. He would make sure everyone had fun, but he also wanted them to experience this spooky time of year and embrace the scarier.

And by the way this group cheered, Sam was sure they would love his Haunted House. This was a season for fun and friends, family too, and the time they spent together.
