At the start of the trip, the skies were sunny, clean white clouds being the only other color than the intense blue from the up above and down.

Water loudly splashed around, waves being sliced in half whenever the big wooden boat made its way forwards.

The deck was filled with multiple kebanzu, excited with either the journey, their destiny, the view or simply overjoyed in seeing their friends also had joined in the invitation.

Nat sighed, leaning over to rest his head over the protective rail, eyes wandering from the crowd around him to the big endless horizon that was displayed in front of them.

It was a peaceful sight.

His nose flickered at the sudden coldness of a snowflake, blinking rapidly he shook his head for a moment, ears lifting to look around and into the sky once again as he lifted a paw al-together.

Once white fluffy clouds were displayed, now they faded into a darker color, light grays and several more darker now covering most of the sky as they entered into new waters.

It was a very interesting sight, being able to see the exact border where there was no snow falling from the sky to the exact point where it started.

The boat did not hesitate, simply crossing through it unbothered.

A chuckle left his mouth as another snowflake dropped into his nose, the cold soon melting into his warm skin making a small shiver run across his spine.

Several other kebanzu also had the same though apparently, for most of them stayed underneath the now dark sky while others, probably not so brave, chose to retreat at the safety and warmth of inside the deck.

Nat decided to stick a bit more outside however, the cold didn't bother him anyway. At least not at the moment.

The wood below his feet made a cracking noise, its creaking was nearly haunting, with the knowledge that it was an old transport and more likely had delivered several hundreds of other kebanzu citizens across this very same cold sea multiple times.

A small thought, what if the boat sinked?

That 's silly.. they wouldn’t let them travel if the boat was in a bad state. Right?

He shook his head again, dissiping the last of his thoughts away before they became something.. worse.

Instead of focusing into those he allowed his eyes to go from a small keb, laughing loudly at the snowflakes falling down to over the ocean once more.

Now it was possible to see small pieces of ice crossing his vision. Little icebergs. The frozen spots of water lingering steadily on top of the calm water while the boat passed, sometimes breaking through a bigger one in its way while it did so.

The soft breeze slowly grew to become a more cold wind.

A shudder crossed him as he held from sneezing. An ear flickered at the sound of footsteps approaching, turning over to see it revealed it to be an elder blue kebanzu wearing fluffy coat while a long tail dragging behind her before stopping by his side.

“It's very cold out here young one.. perhaps you should wear something to protect you from the wind hm?” she hummed, her voice rough and old with a small gentle smile crossing her lips as she did so “here, my grandson has a better one to keep him warm.. you may find use of this old scarf now instead”

Out of her side she took a small bundle of cloth, upon close inspection it revealed to be a scarf, clearly hand-made with a very fluffy wool.

Smiling, Nat nodded and thanked her, grabbing the piece of warm clothing and wrapping it around his neck as she chuckled and moved away.

“not a problem young one.. take care out here in this weather!” waving a paw she then dismissed down into the deck, joining the others into the warmth of inside the boat area.

Perhaps it would be a good moment to join them there?

‘Just a bit more wouldn’t hurt..’ - he thought to himself while casually walking along the deck, trying to see more of the view before the wind became too much for him to handle.

It was possible to see, far away ahead, the big white mountains made of ice and snow, surrounded by the ocean with several white cracked parts drifting out of it. Pieces of frozen water making small patches of icebergs with various different sizes.

Right in the middle stood out a small little island with bright little fires guiding them into it, a wooden boat turned upside down serving as a roof more than anything.

It seems that they didn't have to worry much about the cold, given how nearly close to their destination they were after all.

((apologies about the first attempt! ps: the elder keb is merely fictional.
